GStereo Manual
Welcome to GStereo
GStereo is a multi-band stereo width processor.
The input can be split into three configurable frequency ranges and then the stereo width of each band can be controlled independently
Interface
The user interface is fairly straightforward, with five controls on one page.
Low Freq: This setting controls the first cross-over frequency for the effect.
Frequencies below this frequency form the "bass" band for stereo control.
High Freq: This setting controls the second cross-over frequency for the effect.
Frequencies above this frequency form the "high" band for stereo control.
Frequencies between the "low" and "high" settings form the "mid" band.
Bass width: This setting controls the stereo width of the "bass" frequency band.
Mid width: This setting controls the stereo width of the "mid" frequency band.
High width: This setting controls the stereo width of the "high" frequency band.
Stereo width is reduced by effectively moving the left/right parts of the sound towards the centre.
It is increased by boosting the distinct components of the left/right signals.
Hints and ideas
-
It can be challenging to create a mix with some sources when the bass is off-centre - GStereo can be used to centre the bass without losing the stereo image of higher frequencies.
-
Widening higher frequencies can help to create a larger space, especially when listeneing through headphones.
